At Venture, we believe that healing is possible, no matter what your story is.
Our practice was founded on the lived experience of overcoming adversity. Raised in 22 foster homes and defying the odds to become a mental health professional, our founder Rose Degenhardt built this practice with one mission in mind: to help others reclaim hope, resilience, and connection.
We are a trauma-informed, person-centered practice offering compassionate care for children, youth, adults, and families. Whether you're navigating anxiety, trauma, relationships, or life transitions, we're here to walk alongside you through every step of the healing process.

Who We Are
We are a private counselling practice offering high-quality, mental health services to the greater Halifax area and surrounding communities. The office is located in Lower Sackville to make accessing services convenient to all communities. Our team consists of counselling therapists dedicated to providing compassionate mental health services. In collaboration with you, we will work hard to help you understand and manage challenging life experiences, and develop more adaptive ways of relating to yourself, others, and the world around you.
Our clinical team possesses a high level of training, skills, and expertise related to helping you make meaningful, significant, and lasting changes to achieve your full potential. We provide a neutral ground to individuals where you define the goals, and we will help you get there with unbiased feedback.
We offer a variety of high-quality services with a standard of excellence to find the most effective way to resolve core issues. Our approach is grounded in research, which has proven successful. Since there is not a "one size fits all" solution, we use a variety of evidence-based approaches, tailored to you and your emotional well-being.

We're Moving!
We're excited to announce that effective August 31, 2026, Venture Counselling & Therapy Inc. will be welcoming clients at our new office location!
Our new address:
30 Damascus Rd, Suite 202
Bedford, NS
Our current office at 578 Sackville Dr will remain open through August 29, 2026, with all scheduled appointments taking place there until the move.
Beginning August 31, 2026, all in-person appointments will be held at our new Bedford office.
We look forward to welcoming you to our new space and continuing to provide the same compassionate, client-centred care in a fresh new location. If you have any questions about the move or need assistance finding our new office, please don't hesitate to contact us.
